Why doesn’t the government fix the oil problem?

Their are millions of extra motorists at the gas stations – from China, India, etc. Demand is high and supply is low and oil is a limited resource – theirs x amount of it – and that’s it.

Lowering oil prices by government subsidies, and stuff may work short term but will be unsustainable as oil prices go up and up.

The truth is YOU CANT STOP OIL PRICES.

The fix to the oil problem is NOT TO USE OIL, use renewable alternatve energy and build infractures to make it work. This will secure a future of unlimited energy and cheap feul – and it’s also good for the environment

In order for this to happen it will take guts from government and sacifices from americans to achieve.

Or we can just do nothing , keep whining & blame everyone else year in and year out even when gas prices get to $10 a gallon.

It’s not the governments problem first off to fix this issue and Gas prices will never reach 10 dollars a gallon. Look at 5-6 a gallon and then a slow decline. We have currently new refineries in the plans and already another one in production in South Dakota. This area has also been determined to have an enormous supply of oil in the ground in which drilling is already beginning. Now, here’s where we need the government, we need to begin drilling the vast oil reserves we have domestically and get rid of the red tape slowing this process. Support the effort by sending a letter to your congressman, senator, etc.
However, you are right in the fact we need to find better fuel technologies due to the fact this will further increase the supply and lower the demand and price of oil.

Obama will hinder all of this and further increase oil prices.

India has 150GW of renewable energy potential, about half in the form of small hydropower, biomass, and wind and half in solar, cogeneration, and waste-to-energy. Developing renewable energy can help India increase its energy security, reduce the adverse impacts on the local environment, lower its carbon intensity, contribute to more balanced regional development, and realize its aspirations for l…
